  • Change network configuration
  • Reset network configuration to default

SIA can be connected to your computer via either wireless or ethernet. Wireless requires configuration while ethernet can be plugged in for immediate access. Here you will learn how to configure the different network interfaces.

Subnet conflict

SIA comes with 2 network interfaces (the X1 and the X2), when changing their settings please make sure that they do not share the same subnet as it will create network routing conflicts.

To change the network configuration:

  • In the SIA portal go to  Network
  • Click the network interface you want to modify. A dialogue will open
    • For details of the different network interfaces check Wiring & peripherals ‍
  • Modify the configuration of the network to match what your preferences. Check Network configuration parameters for additional parameter information
  • Press Save
  • SIA will restart to apply the new configuration

A restart will happen and the IP change will take place. Please note you might have to modify you client computers IP address to access SIA again.

In case you forgot your IP address you can easily Reset network configuration to default‍.

Network configuration parameters

Below is a table of all the various network parameters that can be set for the configuration.

Parameter Description
Enabled Enabled or disable the network interface
Configuration Manual: Manually set the network configuration. This is static and is preferred in most cases where you want to be in control of the IP address and your network

DHCP: Automatically assign IP address and configuration that it received by the router or the network. By using this you will not know what the IP address of SIA becomes unless you are in 100% control of  your router & network.
IP The IP address of the network interface
Subnetmask Subnet mask of the network interface
Gateway The default gateway of the network interface. This could for instance be the IP address of the router.
Nameservers Nameservers / DNS servers. Multiple can be added by separating them with a ","

Wireless network configuration parameters

If a wireless dongle (Wi-Fi) is attached to the USB it will show up on the network page with a symbol.

Using WiFi would require a SIA with USB interface and a valid WiFi dongle with drivers SIA has support for. Contact us for more information

Parameter Description
Wireless network name (SSID) SSID of the WiFi network you wish to connect to.
Key Password of the WiFi network
Encryption Select which encryption the WiFi network uses
None
WEP

WPA/WPA2
ip address dns nameserver gateway subnet subnetmask dhcp
