Secomea SiteManager
Configure and activate Secomea SiteManager Embedded from the Edge Portal and connect it to a GateManager.
Use Secomea SiteManager Embedded to connect the SIA Connect gateway to a Secomea GateManager for remote access. You configure and start SiteManager from the Edge Portal, then complete any required licensing in GateManager.
SiteManager Embedded requires a Secomea license. Obtain the GateManager connection information and a suitable license from your GateManager administrator or Secomea provider before you begin.
Before you begin
Make sure that:
- The gateway has a working internet connection.
- You can sign in to the Edge Portal with permission to configure remote access.
- You have the address of your Secomea GateManager.
- You have the Domain value required by your GateManager setup. Secomea documentation may refer to this value as a domain token.
- You have access to a SiteManager Embedded license.
Open the Secomea settings
- Sign in to the Edge Portal.
- In the sidebar, open Tools.
- Select Remote Access.
- Find the Secomea card. It is identified as SiteManager for Embedded.
- Select Configure SiteManager Embedded.
The Secomea Gatemanager connection information dialog opens. Existing values are filled in when a configuration has already been saved.
Understand the connection status
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Checking | The Edge Portal is retrieving the current configuration and status. | Wait for the status check to finish. |
| Running | SiteManager is running with the saved configuration. | Complete or verify the device and license setup in GateManager. |
| Stopped | SiteManager has a status of stopped. | Open the configuration, verify the values, and activate SiteManager again. |
| Not configured | No SiteManager configuration is available. | Enter the required connection information and activate SiteManager. |
| Unavailable | The Edge Portal could not retrieve the SiteManager configuration. | Check the gateway connection and system status, then reload the page. |
Enter the SiteManager parameters
| Parameter | Required | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Server | Yes | The server address of your Secomea GateManager instance. | gm1234.secomea.com |
| Domain | Yes | The Domain value for your GateManager account. Use the exact value supplied by your GateManager administrator. | Value supplied by your administrator |
| Name | Yes | The device name shown in GateManager. Use a name that helps you identify this gateway. | Factory-1-Gateway |
If no name has been saved, the Edge Portal proposes a name in the format siaconnect-<gateway UUID> when the gateway UUID is available. You can replace it with a more descriptive name.
Configure and activate SiteManager
- Enter the GateManager address in Server.
- Enter the account value in Domain.
- Enter the device name that you want to see in GateManager in Name.
- Select Activate Secomea SiteManager.
When activation starts successfully, the Edge Portal displays Secomea SiteManager is now running with the configuration. The Secomea card then shows the saved Server, Domain, Name, and current status.
A Running status confirms that SiteManager is running with the saved Edge Portal configuration. You may still need to locate the SiteManager and attach its license in GateManager.
Complete the setup in GateManager
- Sign in to your Secomea GateManager administrator account.
- Open the domain used for the SiteManager configuration.
- Locate the new SiteManager by the Name entered in the Edge Portal.
- Attach the required SiteManager Embedded license.
- Confirm in GateManager that the SiteManager is connected and available for your remote access workflow.
For the GateManager-side procedure, see Connecting SiteManager Embedded and SiteManager Embedded License in the official Secomea documentation.
Change an existing configuration
- Go to Tools > Remote Access.
- On the Secomea card, select Configure SiteManager Embedded.
- Change the required Server, Domain, or Name value.
- Select Activate Secomea SiteManager to apply the configuration.
The current Edge Portal does not provide separate stop or uninstall actions for SiteManager. Reopening the configuration lets you replace the saved connection values.
Troubleshoot SiteManager setup
| Message or condition | Cause | How to resolve it |
|---|---|---|
| Gatemanager server is required. | The Server field is empty. | Enter the address supplied for your GateManager. |
| Gatemanager domain is required. | The Domain field is empty. | Enter the Domain value supplied by your GateManager administrator. |

| Failed to activate Secomea SiteManager. | The gateway could not save or start SiteManager with the submitted configuration. The API may display a more specific message when one is available. | Verify all three values, confirm that the gateway can reach the GateManager, and try again. Use the Ping tool to test network reachability when relevant. |
| Unable to read the SiteManager configuration. | The Edge Portal could not retrieve the configuration from the gateway. | Check the gateway and internet status, reload the page, and review system logs if the problem continues. |
| Status remains Stopped or the SiteManager does not appear in GateManager. | The connection values may be incorrect, the GateManager may be unreachable, or the GateManager-side setup is incomplete. | Check Server, Domain, internet access, and firewall or DNS settings. Then confirm the device and license configuration in GateManager. |
