The Overview page is the cockpit of the next-generation SIA Connect Edge Portal. It provides a central view of your configured instances, mappings, gateway resources, software versions, license status, and diagnostic actions.

Open the cockpit

  1. Sign in to the Edge Portal.
  2. Expand Workspace in the sidebar.
  3. Select Overview.

Use the sidebar button in the header to collapse or expand the navigation menu. When collapsed, the sidebar displays navigation icons.

View your connected instances

The first section of the cockpit divides configured instances into two panels.

Industrial Devices

The Industrial Devices panel shows connected operational technology hardware and controllers.

Each instance displays:

  • Instance name
  • Connector logo
  • Number of configured items
  • Number of mappings

The panel header shows the total number of industrial instances.

Select an instance row to open its complete instance page. Select View to inspect it without leaving the cockpit.

Cloud & Databases

The Cloud & Databases panel shows configured cloud endpoints and database connections.

Each instance displays the same summary information as an industrial instance:

  • Instance name
  • Connector logo
  • Number of configured items
  • Number of mappings

Select the instance row to open its complete instance page, or select View for a cockpit preview.

Inspect an instance from the cockpit

Selecting View opens an instance panel on the right side of the page.

The panel can contain:

  • Overview - Address, item count, and mapping count.
  • Parameters - Available configuration values for the instance.
  • Mapping Flow - A visual representation of mappings connected to the instance.

Close the panel to return to the cockpit.

Hardware Information

The Hardware Information panel shows the current gateway identity and resource usage.

It includes:

  • Gateway UUID
  • Uptime
  • System time
  • CPU load and core count
  • CPU temperature
  • Used and total memory
  • Used and total storage

Select the copy control beside the UUID to copy the complete identifier to your clipboard.

The CPU, memory, and storage indicators help you identify unusually high resource usage.

System Information

The System Information panel summarizes configuration, container, and license information.

Total items

Total items is the combined number of configured items across all Connector instances.

Docker

The Docker status can be:

  • Checking
  • Running
  • Stopped
  • Unavailable
  • Unknown

Select the Docker row to open Tools → Containers.

Docker and container features can be unavailable depending on the SIA Connect software edition and gateway installation.

License information

The license summary shows its status, expiry, and item limit. The following states have different meanings:

Status Meaning Displayed details
Guest No active license is installed. The unit is available in guest mode. The expiry and item-limit values are shown as Guest.
Legacy The unit uses the original AES CPU-bound hardware license. The license is perpetual and the item limit is shown as Unlimited.
Active A current license is active. The decoded expiry and item limit are shown. A perpetual license has no expiry date.
Expires today or Expired The current license has reached or passed its expiry date. Open License management to review or replace it.

The guest-session timer reported in Events is a separate session feature. It does not identify whether the installed license is Guest or Legacy.

Software Information

The Software Information panel lists installed versions for the system, UI, API, Shadow API, and other available software components.

It also displays the current Update Status.

Use Quick Actions

The Quick Actions panel provides direct access to frequently used system and diagnostic operations.

Restart Software

Use Restart Software to restart the SIA Connect software without rebooting the gateway hardware.

  1. Select Restart Software.
  2. Select Yes, restart the software.

The software can take some time to reinitialize. A confirmation message appears when the restart request has started.

Restart Device

Use Restart Device to reboot the complete gateway.

  1. Select Restart Device.
  2. Select Yes, restart the device.

A device restart temporarily interrupts all connections and can take several minutes.

Open Logs

Use Open Logs to access the diagnostic log interface.

  1. Select Open Logs.
  2. Review the displayed login details.
  3. Select Open logs.

The username is admin. The password field is populated with the PIN code retrieved from the gateway.

The portal attempts to sign you in automatically and opens the logs in a new browser tab. If automatic sign-in is unavailable, use the displayed credentials when prompted. Ensure that your browser allows the Edge Portal to open new tabs or pop-ups.
