It is very useful to upload files to the Connector if some of your instances requires it such as for certificates and encryption files. By using the functionality to upload files to the Connector you are able to upload e.g. your servers public key so a safe encrypted connection can be established.

Only some Connectors support files. If you cannot see the option for uploading files then the Connector does not support this function.


To manage the files for Connectors the first thing you will need to do is:

  • Go to  Connectors
  • Locate the Files table under the Connector to which you want to upload, edit or delete a file



Uploading files

To upload a file:

  • Click the   Upload new file button. A new dialogue will open
  • Click Browse and select the file you want to upload
  • Fill in the information
    • Title The title of the file that will be shown when you are selecting under the Instance or Item
    • Device Select which devices that can make use of the file. We recommend to select "Valid for all devices". It is up to the individual Connector if this is being applied and hence it cannot be taken for granted to be applied
    • Description (opt) Description of the file
  • Click the Save file button


After the file is uploaded you will be able to use it for the Connector to which you added it. The Instances or Items will contain a drop down from where you can select the file.



Editing files

To edit files:

  • Click the Edit button in the table next to file you want to edit. A new dialogue with all the information will open
  • Modify the desired parameters. For information of the parameters please check the Uploading files section in this article
  • Click the Save file button

To modify the file's binary you will have to delete it and create a new



Download files

To download a uploaded file:

  • Click the Download button in the table next to the file you want to download
  • You will be prompted with login to SIA. Type your credentials for the SIA portal.
  • The file will start to download



Deleting files

To delete a file:

  • Click the Edit button button in the table next to file you want to delete. A new dialogue with all the information will open
  • Click the  Delete file to delete the file


Caution

This cannot be undone and the file will be permanently deleted
