Access the Edge Portal
How to access the portal and start the configuration of SIA
To start configuring SIA and utilize all its features the first thing you will need is to access the portal. The portal is a web based UI which means you can access it and start using SIA without having to install any external applications to your computer. Unless of course you do not have a web browser installed.
The portal is a Web App and you will therefore need a web browser in order to access the portal.
The portals web app is running locally on SIA. You will therefore have to be in same network as SIA. For more information how to configure your computer check Network configuration of client computer
Access SIA Connect Standalone
- The first thing to do if you have not done it yet, is to configure your IP address to be in the same subnet as SIA. For further information how to do this check Change network configuration.
- Validated you can talk with SIA (e.g. using ping)
- Open your browser and go to
http://10.20.30.40orhttp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxdepending on the IP of SIA. See image below.- 10.20.30.40 is the default IP address
- Now you should be on the login portal of SIA if everything went well.

Access SIA Connect ANY-Ware
SIA Connect ANY-Ware runs on a computer, server, or virtual machine instead of dedicated SIA Connect hardware. It can be installed natively on Linux or run as a Docker container.
Access a native installation
When SIA Connect ANY-Ware is installed directly on Linux:
- Confirm that the SIA Connect service is running.
- Open a supported web browser on the host computer.
Enter:
http://localhost
If a different web port was selected during installation, include it in the address. For example:
http://localhost:8080
To access the Edge Portal from another computer, replace localhost with the IP address or hostname of the computer running SIA Connect:
http://<host-address>:<web-port>
The other computer must be able to reach the host over the network. The host firewall must also allow connections to the configured web port.
Access a Docker installation
The address used for a Docker installation depends on the host port mapped to port 80 inside the SIA Connect container.
For example, this mapping makes the Edge Portal available on port 80:
-p 80:80
Open the following address on the computer running Docker:
http://localhost
If a different host port is used, include that port in the address. For example, this mapping:
-p 8080:80
makes the Edge Portal available at:
http://localhost:8080
To connect from another computer, replace localhost with the IP address or hostname of the Docker host:
http://<docker-host-address>:8080
localhost only refers to the computer on which the browser is running. Do not use localhost when accessing the Docker installation from another computer.
If the Edge Portal does not open:
- Confirm that the SIA Connect container is running.
- Check which host port is mapped to container port
80. - Confirm that the address contains the correct port.
- Check that the Docker host firewall allows access to the mapped port.
- Confirm that the client computer can reach the Docker host over the network.
Logging in
After you have accessed the portal you can login with your credentials to SIA.

- Go to the portal
- Fill in username & password
- Press Login button
- If succeeded you will be presented to the portal.

Logging out
To logout do the following:
- Click the in the upper right corner. A dropdown menu will be presented
- Click Logout and you will be forwarded to the login page
