Validating the network configuration

To validate if the network configuration of the client PC works as expected a ping command can executed.
A ping command is performed in a shell command line tool such as:

  • PowerShell or Command Prompt in Windows
  • Terminal in Mac OS X
  • Terminal in Linux Ubuntu

When the command line tool is open a ping command can be executed by calling the following command.

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of SIA that is going to be pinged. If SIA contains the default network configuration the following command can be executed to validate the connection

ping 10.20.30.40
